Walk In Test For Technical Associates (TA – JRF)
Forest Survey of India (FSI) is a national organization under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India responsible for the forest resource assessment at the National level. Under Project on Mapping of Aravallis (Rajasthan) being implemented by the FSI, there is a requirement of six to eight Technical Associates (JRF) on contractual basis for a period of 6 (six) months.FSI provides an excellent environment for skill upgradation in the field of geomatics’ applications in natural resource management. The organisation has a state of the art computer laboratory with the latest workstations and software for digital image processing (DIP) & geographical information system (GIS).
Applications are invited for six to eight positions of Technical Associates (JRF) on contractual basis for DIP/GIS related work, initially for a period of six months. Extension of tenure to the deserving TAs would be possible only if it is required for the project.
Technical Associates (TA – JRF)
Essential Qualification:
- M.Sc./B.E./M.A.(Geography)/MCA from recognised University/Institute with some experience of remote sensing & GIS applications (special paper, project, dissertation etc).
- Desirable Qualification: Diploma/degree in remote sensing and GIS applications. Preference will be given to UGC/CSIR/NET qualified candidates.
- Desirable Experience: 6 months’ experience of working in digital image processing (DIP) and GIS softwares (preferably in ERDAS Imagine & ARC-INFO).
Emoluments:
- Rs. 12,000/-p.m. (fixed) + HRA as admissible.
Selection:
- Candidates have to appear for written test, hands-on test and interview at 9.30 AM on March 25, 2010. Selection will be done on the basis of qualification, experience and performance in the written test/interview/hands- n tests. Decision of the Director General, FSI will be final in this regard. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview/test.
